Wi-Fi is a wireless technology trademark of the Wi-Fi Alliance. It refers to wireless networks based on the globally recognised Industry of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 standards.
Products certified as Wi-Fi are interoperable with each other.
What is Kordia™ Metro Wi-Fi?
Kordia™ Metro Wi-Fi is a nationwide Wi-Fi network consisting of smart network nodes with multiple 802.11 radios linked in a mesh-like network.
The radio and network infrastructure are owned and operated by Kordia™. Each network customer can manage their own SSID and therefore become the ‘service provider’.
Metro Wi-Fi Network
Via service providers, the Metro Wi-Fi network provides users, within the city coverage area, with access to a number of services:
- Internet access
- Mobile VoIP
- Security applications such as CCTV
Kordia™’s Metro Wi-Fi network is supported by RoamAD’s optimised wireless networking platform. This network is:
- Optimised to support mobile broadband data and mobile VoIP/VoWiFi
