Network Provisioning

Network provisioning involves the installation and commissioning of a wide range of terminal equipment.

We have extensive experience connecting subscribers to existing telecommunications networks.

Freeview

Freeview

For the reception of Freeview and other free-to-view television content on the satellite, the Freeview group propose the use of a set-top box.

This box will meets their baseline performance and specifications (refer to the Freeview group for more details).

These set-top boxes receive and decode the television services, and include the MHEG-5 middleware or API application.

Info for digital terrestrial (DTT) TV installers

Kordia™ is installing 18 DTT broadcast sites around New Zealand. These sites will provide digital terrestrial television coverage to ¾ of New Zealand’s population.

In order for viewers to receive DTT, they will need to have a suitable:

  • MPEG-4 set-top-box (STB) or integrated receiver
  • UHF aerial that can receive the DTT signal from one of the 18 broadcast sites

CRA awards Kordia™ DAB+ project management contract

Kordia™ is assisting Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) in the project management of the much-anticipated digital radio rollout across Australia by 1 May 2009.

Kordia™ will work with the industry’s Digital Technical Advisory Committee to project manage the successful suppliers involved in transmitter supply, multiplexing, portal service delivery and integration of the equipment for the transition to digital radio.

These are delivered through the Optus D1 satellite at 160.0°E.

Digital broadcast satellite services are available from Kordia™'s head-end and up-linking facilities.

Our satellite services commenced in May 2007, and we successfully launched terrestrial services in February 2008.
