Kordia spreads its wings to Laos

Bangkok, Thailand - Barely a month after winning two frame agreements from Huawei in Thailand, Kordia Solutions Thailand (KST) has won another contract from Huawei Tech. Investment Co. Limited to install Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) equipment at 29 nodes in Laos.

This is the first telecommunications project for Kordia in Laos and is another step in strengthening the close relationship between Kordia and Huawei. To date, Kordia has completed projects for Huawei in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Myanmar.

“We were awarded the project due to our optical transmission engineering capability and solid track record in completing similar SDH installations for Huawei in Thailand,” said Kevin Ferguson, Chief Operations Officer of KST.

Kordia is likely to commence the project in early January, and is targeting a completion date of mid February 2009.

When the project is successfully delivered, Kordia will be able to apply for a "Regional Supplier" status with Huawei, which will consolidate its relationship with Huawei and create further opportunities in the Asia Pacific region.
