Courier Communications

If it’s one thing that is crucial for a courier company, it’s communication. Not just any old communication device, but a tool that will allow two-way dialogue, GPS tracking, one-to-one and group calling.

With these features stock standard for KorKor, it made sense that Messenger Services—comprising Sub 60 and Kiwi Couriers—in wellington replaced their old technology with a system that could do the job more effectively. Over 40 in-vehicle devices were deployed in February, and the company has already added functionality on top of the basic ‘push-to-talk’ features.

“Installing KorKor has helped Messenger Services manage its business,” says Jannine Wilkinson, Kordia Account Director. “Because of KorKor’s advanced features, the transport and courier industry has embraced this technology – both here and in Australia.

Rather than juggling one-way RTS (where only one person can talk at a time) with other devices, teams can now communicate more effectively using a single device.

Normal conversations are possible. So is group or individual text messaging to and from team phones and the business’ head office. Coverage areas have improved and voice quality is clearer on the KorKor network. Unlike analogue, quality does not degrade over distance on a digital network.

“It’s been a successful tool that has seen businesses with time and service management,” says Wilkinson. “We expect to see further significant growth in this industry as KorKor takes hold.”
