Kordia takes on Tonga

Kordia’s Enterprise Services team faced wild storms and floods as it completed a robust national Internet Protocol (IP) network for its new customer: Tonga Communications Corporation.

Due to severe outages and instability across its network, Tonga Communications Corporation (TCC) was experiencing a high degree of customer dissatisfaction.

To get to the core of its network problems, the company engaged Kordia Private Networks’ services to provide a comprehensive audit of Tonga’s National Network.

After conducting a detailed audit of the client’s infrastructure and identifying issues and risks, Kordia produced a customised solution to address potential single point failures and bottlenecks throughout the existing network.

By designing a Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) platform, Kordia allowed TCC to customise its network and provide multiple IP VPN services to numerous different clients at the same time, without risks to the network.

The MPLS infrastructure also lays the foundation for TCC to offer its customer base value-added services, such as IPVoice, QoS and IPTV services in the future.

“This lays the foundation for a good, long-term relationship with TCC and signals great potential for Kordia in the supply of IP Telephony and IPTV solutions,” said Kordia’s Enterprise Services General Manager Fedele Galluzzo.

The new and improved network delivers data services to both Tongan businesses and to its population. Kordia’s solution was well received by both TCC’s corporate and retail customers. It has given the telecommunications company a  real competitive edge in the industry.
